Perhaps the full story mode would benefit from 3D because there are some memorable moments within the game, but I'm doubtful about that. In Portal 2 players take control of a silent protagonist, named Chell, who must escape the secret underground research facility controlled by an evil. Depth perception as a whole seemed to remain unchanged.

Picking things up and interacting with objects did not look any better or worse. There were some effects that stood out a bit, such as the lasers that you had to redirect to open the doors and the ones that emanated from sentries but that it. While it is a fine looking game there's not much room for bells and whistles.

The problem with Portal 2 specifically is that the presentation in multiplayer is very spartan. It was almost as if the 3D settings on the TV were switched to bare minimum, or completely turned off. Not much really stood out in a significant way. I spent a good deal of time with Jason trying to figure out what elements were in 3D or should have been in 3D. Sadly this game does not benefit much if at all from 3D. There was an incident where I kind of killed Jason in a horrible way, but that wasn't the TV's fault.

Portal 2 co-op focuses on teamwork to solve problems and after a certain point, we were looking at each others screens to figure out how to solve the later puzzles. With a horizontal split we each had a generous portion of the screen and we could play without getting distracted by what was going on with the bottom of the screen, which tends to happen when you split first person games on any TV. Initially we had some issues with a horizontal split and remembering which robots we were until we realized we could run the split horizontally (I was playing Atlas, the blue robot, and Jason was Peabody, the orange one). Portal 2 co-op is not as graphically impressive as the single player campaign, but it is still decent looking lady in it's own right. Hopefully I'll be able to tracked down some of those titles for you guys at a later date. There are a few games out there that support a feature that allows both players to see full their screens at the same time rather than using a split screen. I figured thinking with portals would be a good way for us to see test a 3DTV handles some multiplayer action.
